The Pilates Method is a sophisticated system of gentle but effective, whole-body conditioning and corrective exercise which has been popular among dancers and other people wanting to be fit in the US for over 80 years. It featured a bouncy music score with just a bunch of bodies, mostly headless of nice looking women. It preceeded Jane Fonda's Workout videos. I can't seem to find the right keywords on internet searches. It was marketed as an infomercial.
The first two answers given so far are not it. As I remember one of the videos there were 4-5 models dancing close to each other and they may have been bouncing up and touching their feet with one hand.

I have knee osteoarthritis or something, i'm 26 but february 2006 just did some knee bending and now i can't even run or do anything that i couuld do before. And i have alot of flab in around my waist. I can't even do push ups that much cause i have a chest torn injury that i acquired in 1998. Anyways, so i can do things like situps, or stand on one spot and lift a weight, such as a backpack full of books. that feels good but i don't feel like that is much aerobic exercise. I always hear aerobic exercise is the best for losing weight,, but how can i do it if i'm injured?
I would speak with your doctor about what exercises would be best. It sounds to me like you may benefit from trying swimming as an aerobic exercise, since it is very low-impact and can increase your flexibility as well as give you a good whole-body workout.

Hi,
According to the book "Fit or Fat" by Covert Bailey (not exact quote) :
"12 mins of non-stop aerobic workout is the amount of time needed for the body to start producing FAT burning enzymes. The idea is that you want to get your body to use FAT for energy. After 12 minutes you start to burn fat at a higher rate."
I do High Impact aerobics 12 min non-stop, music set at 140 bpm (kind of fast) daily or every other day at the latest. I don't do more time, because by those 12 mins I'm kind of tired (I already did butt exercises and flexibility warm-ups for about 7-8 minutes, before the non-stop aerobics). Also, when I'm finished, I'm beginning to sweat a lot and I don't like to "pour" sweat, because I feel really uncomfortable until I get a shower.
Is it 12 minutes aerobics non-stop enough, or do I need to increase maybe a couple of minutes more, to REALLY burn fat?
it's a start. But u need to do at least 30 min of cardio 3-5 days per week. With what ur doing now, it will burn something, but not enough to notice a weight loss. Also increase the amount of resistance exercises u do. again this should be 20- 30 min a day 2-3 days per week.
